Vanesa Roimicher

Spanish Teacher

Growing up Hispanic in a Spanish-speaking household, I had the opportunity to experience much diversity at home and at school, which inspired a love of learning about language and culture. Eventually, teaching Spanish language and culture became a passion.

What are some of your hobbies?

I like to read. I also like to dance, I dance flamenco. I like to listen to music and I play percussion. I also like to bake. I do not like to decorate, but I like to bake.

What’s your go-to take-out order?

Ooh, I’ve got to go with pizza or Chinese food, specifically Moo Shu Shrimp.

What do you want the future of education to look like?
I think schools should progress to more project-based instruction. Lectures can be wonderful, but for most students lectures are boring and don't help them engage with the material.
