On Monday evening, Chicago received its first major winter storm of the season. The first significant snow is an occasion to observe the calm of slowed traffic and muffled sounds. So we honored it by canceling morning classes. Some students were grateful for the opportunity to sleep just a little bit later under a warm blanket. Others shoveled, made snow angels, snow people, and got frosty with their furry family members.
Some traditions are absolutely worth upholding!
