How can music make a positive impact on my neighborhood?

An Online Installation of student projects in Music That Matters, an Elective class in the Global Languages series.

Students in the Music That Matters course investigated music as a language and how it’s attachment to people, history, and politics can teach, inspire, and ignite us. Throughout the course, they produced, arranged, and sampled music across genres to understand the themes, emotions, and movements of the cultures in which they were created. This understanding informed their own projects—a proposal for a public music installation in their own neighborhood.
